![]() ![]() It really needs a sleeve case on it before you bag it for travel Even in a pin drop environment, you hear nothing from it * Fast since it uses Flash memory instead of hard drive Some folks considered this a novelty feature, but I often use my laptops in low light situations and I no matter how much I have memorized the keyboard, there are still those combinations that I need to look down for. The only huge complaint I can muster up for it is that the kepboard is no longer backlit. The Air is sleek and has everything you need, including camera, speakers, microphone and all the features you are accustomed to. My 17" Macbook Pro feels like a chunk of lead after holding this thing and I won't even get into what my Gateway PC laptop feels like. The Air boots fast, it is extremely lightweight. It is still out of the price range of most folks though since they might just figure to opt for a fuller size notebook at half price or lower from Wal-Mart. The $999 base price tag is just about right when you compare it to the sticker shock of some of the Apple products out there. IPHOTO FOR MAC 10.9.2 PORTABLEThere isn't anything this small or portable out there for the price. To start off, I think that the Air is just a perfect Netbook, better than anything on the market. My intention was to use this as a netbook and I would take it to work, coffee shops and other places I needed the convenience. I bought the 11" model with no modifications. ![]() Such is the case with the new Macbook Air. I normally don't gush about too many products, but sometimes it is warranted. Now after all this, I must admit that I use Windows machines for my day to day work editing television commercials and demos and for all print advertising… it’s still a Windows world. There is no hard drive, you need to back-up everything to the external hard drive on a regular basis. I also have Parallels Desktop 9 with Windows 7 Ultimate installed so it can run Windows programs if necessary. And if you’re an Apple geek, you get the light up Apple logo on the back of the display. I don’t have enough memory to properly run Final Cut Pro and can do almost no multitasking. There is also the stuff that came pre-installed: iLife (iPhoto, GarageBand, iMovie) and iWork (Keynote, Pages, Numbers). I’ve got a lot of accessories for it and a lot of programs installed on it: Microsoft Office 2011 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Entourage), Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6) Master Collection: Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, SpeedGrade and Prelude plus Adobe Acrobat X Pro plus Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X. My MacBook Air (11.6 inch) with OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 has become a valuable toy. IPHOTO FOR MAC 10.9.2 UPGRADEThe memory is soldered in so it’s almost impossible to upgrade the ram. Like all Apple products, it's well designed, sleek and a pleasure to own. ![]()
